OUR MISSION

Doing the work of healing complex trauma through Gang Rescue and Refinement Passages (GRR).

Pride ROC is on a mission to bring a radical new model of healing to the lives of young Black men who have experienced deep, systemic trauma. Gang involved youth who venture beyond the few blocks that they represent can experience life threatening moments— whether walking to the gas stations, grocery stores, public transportation, etc… These environments, vicariously makes civilian youth “At-Risk”. Treating Complex Trauma, Training in Disciplines, Training in Vocational Skills = Healing & Skilling. Our groundbreaking practice is built on a foundation of trauma-informed care, layering on the following consistent holistic wellness techniques:

Pride ROC is an organization for individual and community refinement. Our vehicle to reach a refined state and herd immunity against urban street warfare is based in High-Risk Passage extractions into nature, away from the community that created, and constantly triggers them and an unsafe environment.

Founded in 2017, in direct response to Chicago’s historical plague of violence, Founder “Instructor Ra” Frye returned home to develop and implement a more mature version of the Gang Passages he was inspired to ignite in Denver with warring Crip and Blood gangs.

We began validating and treating the conditions of disinvested individuals with trauma informed care, organic living, exposure to physical disciplines, workforce developmental training and employment follow. Over our five-year study in a three-block radius of Englewood with High-Risk individuals, a select few of their mothers, the mothers of their children, our Passage model was created and further developed.

A Methodology of Passenger Refinement

Four Passage Models

GRR (Gang Rescue and Refinement) Passages – Serving those in and outside the Gang who shoot guns, are being shot at, or are At – Risk of being shot at.

CAP (Community Advocate Partner) – Passages serving many of our tethered partners serving the same demographic. Passages for their youth clients or for staff. Many who serve in this capacity experience compassion fatigue, or stages of vicarious trauma due to the nature of our work in the hardest hit communities.

MRR (Mothers Rescue and Refinement) Passages – Serving Passenger mothers, the mothers of Passenger children, and mother figures.

Bereavement Passages – Serving families of those that have lost ones due to gun violence. Community repass services are becoming increasingly more dangerous as retaliation often continues after a death. The remote Passage into nature affords a safe space for loved ones to mourn and celebrate in peace. Grief Therapist are available as well as other Pride ROC Healing Practices for individuals and for family

5 Year Anniversary Land Fundraising Campaign

“Operation Rescue” will launch amongst Pride ROC and its tethered Community Advocate Partners serving the same At-Risk demographic, while they provide specific services and training within the communities that Pride ROC does not, Pride ROC’s Refinement Passages, serve as a construct methodology for collective community impact.

Pride ROC will acquire a 200 acre existing camp for our partnerships to expand beyond the city on to Pride ROC’s Refinement Compound, and collectively integrate our work back here in the city.
